How To: Print Art Downloads
how i print art downloads
You all know digital art is one of my favorite ways to switch up my decor between seasons. But how do I do it, where can I buy digital art and where do I have my art printed? Always a most asked question. So let’s dive right in.
First of all lets talk about how digital art works. Digital art is basically a digitally remastered fine art print sent via email, and downloadable to your computer. There are several digital art shops that are my favorites. Some of those include - Juniper Print Shop, North Prints, InCottonArt, Olive and Oak and Collection Prints. The selection is huge and they rage in price from $3-$20 per art print depending on the shop. But once you purchase the digitial print, you can print it as many times as you want.
I like to print my digital art on fine art, or matte paper. Fine art paper is a little more expensive, but it’s thicker and looks so realistic. It looks like a real piece of art. Matte paper is also a great option and more affordable.
The shop I usually use for printing is Poster Jack, they have a Canadian, and a USA site as well. Here is how to do it -
First download your art print to your computer (each shop is slightly different in how you download but they each have detailed instructions on their sites).
Head to Posterjack and fine art prints (or satin matte poster prints, whichever is your preference).
Choose the size you’d like to print. My favorite sizes are 11x14, 16x20 and 18x24—just depends where it is going.
Upload your fine art download, here is where you can make any edits. Crop, rotate etc but usually not needed.
Finally add to cart! It’s that simple!
The trickiest part of the whole process is downloading the prints to your computer, but once you figure that part out it is a breeze.
I usually frame them without glass, as I love to really see the detail of the fine art print. It also makes it easier to photograph, which is necessary for my job but you can do whatever your preference is. I have quite the collection of art prints now and I love to use them throughout my home. It’s an affordable and easy way to seasonally decorate a space. I have shared a few of my current favorite art prints below, as well as some affordable vintage style frames.
