This Week at The Ryan Haus: October 2023 Week Three

What day is it?! But for real, I have been in my house all week. Cleaning, dejunking, organizing, and getting ready for back-to-back weekends with family visiting. We have our first set arriving here shortly and we can’t wait. It is my best friend and her family. The kids are so excited and can’t wait for them to get here. It’ll be a weekend of hockey, with both Derek and Zane having games, and then showing our besties around Edmonton. The boys haven’t ever been to Canada so I can’t wait to see what they think.

I have been so busy getting all my Holiday decor ordered and organized. I can’t wait to start decorating. I will start November 1. I usually do my living room first, and get the main tree up. Since we are going to be remodeling the kitchen soon, I won’t be doing anything in there, which will be kinda nice. It usually takes me 2-3 weeks to decorate the whole house. I add little touches everywhere. It’s such a magical time of year, and I can’t wait to share it all with you.

I am going to get the powder room finished this next week. I hope I can get the wallpaper up Monday, and then do all the touchups, hang the mirror/shelves, and decorate. I really am excited to have that project finished soon.

I shared some new pieces from Alice Lane Home, that I got for our living room. The prettiest side table that is exactly what the space needed, and some absolutely stunning crystal candlesticks. Everyone in our home is smitten with them. Including the kids. I can’t wait to style them for the Holidays! You can see them both here.

I didn’t have time to get a new recipe filmed this week, but I will be sharing an old favorite tomorrow. It is our family’s favorite side dish, a perfect compliment to your Thanksgiving table too. If you were here last year, you know exactly the recipe I am thinking of.
